Hi, I’m Dena, a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Missouri with over 15 years experience. I’m passionate about helping individuals find clarity, connection, and confidence in their lives.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Saint Louis University in 2007, followed by a Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University in 2010. Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience in both clinical and educational settings, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
I have direct clinical experience in a healthcare setting. My background includes serving as a lead counselor in an Intensive Outpatient Program(IOP) where I provided individual, group, and family therapy. I also worked in intake and assessment In the hospital and ER, helping individuals determine the appropriate level of psychiatric care and connecting them with community resources and referrals.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve supported students in a private school setting—focusing on academic, social, and emotional development. I collaborated with parents and educators to assess developmental milestones, readiness for school, and peer interaction.
Currently, I also maintain a private practice offering life coaching services, and I facilitate family support groups through the Herren Project—where I support loved ones of individuals struggling with addiction.
I’ve worked with a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety/Stress
Depression and mood disorders
Codependency
Addiction
Self-esteem and confidence issues
Pregnancy/Postpartum
Relationship and Family dynamics
Parenting issues
Communication issues
Life transitions and personal growth
Therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be yourself. My approach is:
Collaborative – We work as a team, identifying your goals and the best path forward.
Supportive & validating – You’ll always feel heard, understood, and respected.
Flexible & real – I bring authenticity, humor, and a laid-back style to create a space where honest conversations can happen. Oh, and I am known for cussing-when necessary, of course!
I blend various evidence-based approaches such as CBT and ACT, tailoring them to fit your needs. Whether you're navigating challenges, looking for support, or working toward meaningful change, I’m here to help.
